Oris is no stranger to limited edition watches, and some of the most striking designs that the famous Hölstein-based manufacturer puts forwards each year are produced as small-batch releases. Joining the catalog as a 1,000-piece series for 2022 is the Oris Wings of Hope Limited Edition, which offers a fresh take on the brand’s highly versatile Big Crown pilot’s watch series.

Crafted from stainless steel and measuring 40mm in diameter, the case of the Oris Wings of Hope Limited Edition features a simple smooth bezel and a double-domed sapphire crystal protecting its dial, while its oversized screw-down winding crown works with its sapphire display caseback to provide users with 50 meters of water resistance. Fitted to the watch is a white dial with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers and pair of centrally-mounted hour and minute hands, while the running seconds is displayed by a bright red hand inside a small-sub-dial with a blue track at the 6 o’clock location. Fitted to the 20mm lugs is a brown leather strap with quick-release pins that is completed by a matching stainless steel pin buckle.

Powering the Oris Wings of Hope Limited Edition is the brand’s in-house Caliber 401 automatic movement, which runs at a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and includes the conveniences of both hacking and hand-winding, along with a generous 5-day (120 hours) power reserve. Designed in-house by Oris, the Cal. 401 movement offers high levels of magnetic resistance and it is accompanied by a recommended service interval of 10 years, in addition to being protected by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
